Andy Clower, ATC is Head Athletic Trainer, and has been with SOL since 2004.  He has an extensive knowledge of body mechanics, and has worked with many patients and athletes of all levels to not only restore function, but to reach levels beyond their previous abilities.  He is an expert in movement assessment and firmly believes that our bodies are amazing machines, well-designed, and capable of doing tremendous things.  His approach is detailed, and he works closely with each patient, teaching them safe and efficient ways to use their bodies and ensuring carryover to daily life or athletics.

Andy is an avid runner and combines his experiences and his knowledge to assess runners in the clinic. In his assessment, he is able to identify faulty running mechanics that can either cause injury or loss of efficiency in each stride.  He has worked with many elite runners, and is currently developing a rehab/performance training program for runners, using the advanced technology of the Alter-G anti-gravity treadmill.

Andy is also passionate about golf, and has created the “Stroke of Excellence:  Golf Performance Training” program at SOL.  His program assesses golfers’ body mechanics, and identifies muscle weakness, tightness or balance issues that can cause injury, swing faults, inconsistency, and loss of power. He then establishes an individual training program geared towards achieving each golfer’s goals.

In his spare time, Andy enjoys playing and watching sports of all sorts.  He is currently working on obtaining his certification as an Art of Strength Kettlebell Instructor.  He also enjoys working in the community doing volunteer work.  He has traveled to New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina relief, and also sits on the board of directors for Children of Faith Orphanage, located in Visakhapatnam, India.
