SOLPT's program addresses the whole body. Our philosophy is that the body is only as strong as its weakest link. SOL addresses the causes of the dysfunction, and does not just treat the symptoms. Our performance training focuses on each individual's muscle imbalances or weakest links.

About Performance Training
We believe obtaining peak performance in sports, work or life demands physical attributes that combine strength, power, endurance, core stability, mobility, coordination, precision motor patterning, body and postural awareness, agility and speed. A comprehensive assessment, identification of the weak areas, goal setting and obtaining them are achieved together!

Individualized Exercise Programs
Specific exercise programs are designed by our physical therapists and athletic trainers. By designing an individual and custom program that addresses biomechanical restrictions and faulty movement patterns, we can facilitate a quicker return to function and achieve sport-specific goals. Other elements to our program include cardiovascular conditioning and strength training. Biomechanical consulting and strategies for prevention of further injury are included.

Goals
Balanced fitness includes strength, muscle mass, flexibility, power and endurance. The goals of our program include:

  • A stronger core with the potential to reduce long-term spine or extremity problems.

Exercises
Exercises are individualized to address a more balanced body which includes optimal posture with activation of important muscles of the core- the transverse abdominus, internal oblique abdominus, the deep back stabilizers- the multifidi group, along with the pelvic floor.

  • Active isolated stretching
  • Scapular stabilization
  • Physioball exercises
  • Static and dynamic core exercise training
  • Single leg stability
  • Multi-planar functional training for sports
  • Progressing to advanced plyometrics and strength training that can be continued at home or a gym.

Availability
The Performance Training Program is an intense, customized 6-week long program performed 2 times per week and is available year-round. Sessions can be scheduled on an individual or group basis.
